Step 3.  If you want to convert AVI to MPEG-2 then choose the following settings:

Process Video Encoding: Target dvd
Process Audio Encoding: Target ac3

If you want to convert AVI to MPEG-1 then use these options:

Process Video Encoding: Target vcd
Process Audio Encoding: Target mp2

Step 4.  Click Save File button, and choose the output file name (note, both MPEG-2 and MPEG-1 always have the same file extension - .mpg).

Step 5.  Finally, click Encode to start conversion.

Wait several minutes (or hours). Your AVI file will be converted, and saved as mpg file!
