If you have a lot of video files in different formats and want to convert them to create your personal DVD-video disc, then use AVS Video Converter. It allows to combine several video files, create chapters, add subtitles, create DVD menu, and burn the result. Step 1. Launch AVS Video Converter. Click "Browse...", select the video files that you want to convert to DVD and click "Open". You can add or remove several files by using +/- buttons at the right side.
You can change the order of the added files by using the arrow buttons at the right side. Step 2. Click "Formats", then click "To DVD".
Select Profile: DVD NTSC or DVD PAL (check the information about the requirements of your DVD player). Step 3. Click the "Advanced >>" button. Click the "Conversion Options" tab.
Step 4. If you want to add subtitles, then it is highly recommended to store the media files and the subtitles files in the same folder with the same file names so that the program could load subtitles properly. So, rename the files with subtitles according to the names of media files, and copy them into one folder where all your input media files are located. In order to add subtitles for each media file, select the file in the "Input File Name" list. After that, select the None option from the Subpicture drop-down list in "Conversion Options", choose the file with subtitles (*.ssa and *.srt formats are supported). The file with subtitles will be added to this drop-down list. Select it from the list. Repeat this step for each media file that requires subtitles. In order to adjust the font, size and color of subtitles, click "Settings" button on the upper-right side of the main window, and select the Subtitles tab. Step 5. Click the "Aspect Correction" tab. Make sure that the aspect ratio of the input video is equal to that of the output video. If they are not the same, select the appropriate aspect ratio in the Output Video Aspect section to avoid distortions of the output video. If you want to convert several input files, all of them must have the same aspect values.
Step 6. Click the second "Browse..." button (Output File Name field) and select a folder on your hard disk (where the temporary converted video files will be saved). Step 7. Click the "Edit" button at the upper-right side of the window (on the toolbar). Next, click the "Chapters" central button. One of the available ways to add chapters is to set them automatically by pressing the "Auto Set Chapters" button and selecting one of the following options: * At the Beginning of Each Clip - it might be useful to select this mode if you have added several input files into the program. The chapters will be placed at the beginning of each video; * At a Time Interval - use it if you want to assign an interval at which the chapters will be added over a duration of all the added videos;
You can also set chapters manually. Put the timeline cursor to the place where a new chapter must start and click the "Add Chapter" button. Use the "Zoom" slider for more precision.
Manage the created chapters by selecting one of them and pressing the needed button on the Timeline Toolbar. You can remove a chapter, delete all your added chapters or rename them. Step 8. You can create a menu for your DVD. Click the "Disc Menu" central button to start editing your DVD menu. Select one of the Disc Menu Styles by double-clicking it. You can switch between the Main Page and the Chapters page in the Preview Area. To assign your own background pictures left-click the Working Areas at the bottom of the window, choose the desired image or video file.
In the "Settings" section you can change the Disc Menu Title, assign your own Background Music or set the Number of chapters on page using the appropriate controls. Click the Ok button to apply the adjustments and close the window. Step 9. Click the "Convert Now!" button. At the end of the conversion process the window will appear:
Click the "Burn to Disc..." button. Step 10. Insert a blank DVD disc into DVD drive. You can also select the necessary drive. Click the "Start Burning!" button.
