1: Creating a new DVD project
Creating a new project from the Start Page:
To create a new project in the middle of your work with AVS Video Editor please go to the File menu -> Project -> New Project or just press Ctrl+N at your keyboard. After that follow the steps 3-4 described above. STEP 2: Capturing from camera To capture video please make sure that your camera is connected to your computer and all of the necessary drivers are installed. In AVS Video Editor click the Capture button in the Start menu pane. After that AVS Capture Wizard wizard will start. Depending on the video capture device AVS Capture Wizard will look differently.
For example, using a camera as a capture device, you should set the following parameters for video capturing at the Device tab:
At the Record tab of AVS Capture Wizard you should specify output format settings. Note that you can select between the original or custom format settings. In case you select custom video and audio settings, find out the opportunity to modify video codec parameters clicking the Advanced... button. Here you should also enter the file name for your saved movie and set its location.
At the Schedule tab you can also split the output file by size or by time. Besides, it's possible to set stop capture parameters for your convenience. To start/pause/stop capturing please use the appropriate buttons. You can visually judge the capturing process with the help of Preview. After capturing process is complete, click the Next>> button and AVS Capture Wizard will suggest that you import the captured material into AVS Video Editor. For further convenience while editing project you might want to split the imported file into scenes. Each scene will be displayed as a separate clip in the Media Library. For that check the Enable Scene Detection check-box and choose the type of importing video from the list. After you are done, click the Import Media button. You can visually judge the importing process with the help of Preview. To cancel importing click the Cancel button. You can also see the quantity of scenes found in the imported movie. Please note that you can simply drag the files to be imported from the Explorer and drop them to the Media Library. And now you should place the imported videos to the storyboard. STEP 3: Placing the imported videos to the storyboard
After that you will find the Media Library items and the clips present in the highlighted item in the Media Library and the Workspace displayed in the Storyboard mode. Working in this mode you can add or remove video or image clips from your project, change the sequence of clips at storyboard, trim video clips or set the duration of image clips added to your project. 2. the Move Left When all of the necessary video clips are added, it's time to create a DVD menu. STEP 4: Creating DVD menu
There is a number of styles you can select to use for a DVD menu. To select the style you like best please follow the steps below:
After you finish, everything is ready to go to the final step - DVD burning. STEP 5: Burning DVD
Here you should select a Profile from the list of the available DVD Profiles depending on the output quality. Do not forget to select the appropriate DVD Profile (PAL or NTSC) depending on the country you live in. In case you want to include a DVD menu please make sure that the Create DVD Menu check-box is checked. After you finish, please click the Next>> button.
At the next step of the Save Movie To VCD/SVCD/DVD wizard you should enter the file name for your saved movie and set the location. Click the Browse... button to open the standard windows explorer menu and select the movie location. After you are done, click the Start button to start converting your movie into the selected format and burn it to CD. You can visually judge the conversion process with the help of Conversion Preview. Burning DVD After the file structure for your movie is created, the disc will be recorded using the internal AVS Video Editor burn engine. You do not need any other additional programs to burn your created discs. Please make sure that you inserted a DVD±R/RW disc in the drive and select the necessary DVD-drive from the list, in case you have several drives in your system. After the burning process is over, the DVD will be ejected automatically. Now, you can watch the created movie on a home DVD-player! |
