STEP 1: Capturing from TV Tuner
To capture a TV show please make sure that your TV tuner is connected to your computer and all of the necessary drivers are installed. In AVS Video Editor click the Capture button in the Capture/Import menu pane. After that the AVS Capture Wizard wizard will start. At the Device tab you should set the following parameters for video capturing:
At this tab you should specify output format settings. Note that you can select between the original or custom format settings. In case you select custom video and audio settings, note that there is an opportunity to modify video codec parameters clicking the Advanced... button. Here you should also enter the file name for your saved movie and set its location.
At the Schedule tab you can also split the output file by size or by time. Besides, it's possible to set stop capture parameters for your convenience. To start/pause/stop capturing please use the appropriate buttons. You can visually judge the capturing process with the help of Preview. After capturing process is complete, click the Next>> button and AVS Capture Wizard will suggest that you import the captured material into AVS Video Editor. For further convenience while editing project you might want to split the imported file into scenes. Each scene will be displayed as a separate clip in the collection. For that check the Enable Scene Detection check-box and choose the type of importing video from the list. After you are done, click the Import Media button. You can visually judge the importing process with the help of Preview. To cancel importing click the Cancel button. You can also see the quantity of scenes found in the imported movie. Please note that you can simply drag the files to be imported from the Explorer and drop them to the Media Library. And now you should place the captured videos to the storyboard. STEP 2: Placing video to the storyboard
After that you will find the Media Library items and clips present in the highlighted item in the Media Library and the Workspace displayed in the Storyboard mode. Working in this mode you can add or remove video clips to your project, change the sequence of clips at storyboard, trim video clips added to your project. To add video to the storyboard please use drag-and-drop method: drag the desired video icon from the Media Library to the Storyboard:
To change the sequence of your video clips it's convenient to
use the Move Left When all of the necessary video clips are added, it's time to cut the unnecessary commercial in Timeline mode. STEP 3: Cutting the unnecessary part in Timeline mode
Now it's time to preview the result. STEP 4: Preview the Result The Main Preview is intended for previewing the whole project with audio and all of the effects and changes you have made. This is exactly what we need!
