With Vidmex software you can convert audio and video files. Media conversion can be used for the purpose of minimizing of file size. Huge WAVE PCM files can be easily converted into small MP3 or extended WAV format with WMA compression. Video ASF, WMV, or MPEG files can be converted into DivX or another AVI format. For example, MPEG Video Clips can be minimized about 20-30% - with DivX codec.

In this tutorial we will show you how to convert 2 files:
Orbital - Tunel Vision.wav -> to -> Orbital - Tunel Vision2.mp3
Paul Oakenfold - Ready steady go.mpg -> to -> Paul Oakenfold - Ready steady go2.avi
Step 1
Add audio file into Vidmex Playlist. Click on Playlist menu: File -> Add File(s).... Select audio file (for example, Orbital - Tunel Vision.wav).
Step 2
Extract Audio. Select audio file in playlist by clicking on it, or just press Ctrl+A key. Next, click menu Operation -> Extract Audio.
Enter filename and choose path where file must be saved.
Also, choose destination format: MP3 (MPEG Layer-3).
Next, we will show you how to convert MPEG file to AVI.
Step 3
Add video file into Vidmex Wizard. Clear playlist by pressing Ctrl+Delete. In order to add video file click on Playlist menu File -> Add File(s).... Select video file (for example, Paul Oakenfold - Ready steady go.mpg) and press Open.
Step 4
Extract video. Next, select this video file in playlist and press V hot key (or use menu Operation -> Extract Video).
Enter new filename and choose destination folder.
Finally, choose MPEG Layer-3 audio codec or Windows Media Audio.
For video compression use DivX, XviD or DV.
Press Next button, set optional codec parameters and wait several minutes. Your MPEG video clip will be converted to DivX.
